Hello friends!

My names is James Standley but most people just call me Jimmy...I'm going to make this short and sweet for the two or three people out there that actually read this...

I grew up in beautiful Colorado spending winters on some of the greatest slopes in America shredding pow pow and spending summers playing lacrosse and doing fun outdoor activities such as rafting and watching my favorite bands play at the infamous Red Rocks Amphitheater...If you've never been to Colorado I highly recommend it...It's pretty rad!

I've played lacrosse from when I was 9 up till this year and it has taken me around the world, introduced me some of my best friends and gotten me into this excellent University we all attend.

I have now started to focus on the music aspects of my life...working on the largest project I have ever been involved with...helping to start a 10,000+ attendee music festival in my home away from home, Vail Colorado... I'm also involved in a recently started Club at Chapman called Music Project Collective which hopes to model a miniature talent agency to help promote up and coming artists in Southern California! I also occasionally make an appearance at your local house party to mix a couple beats on the 1's and 2's so keep an eye out for me.

Thats all I have for now...Can't wait to spend the semester with you guys

Cheers,
Jimmy

P.S
That is NOT a fanny pack in my photo... that is a JammyPack... A fanny pack + built in speakers... Definitely the best gift I've gotten in years

Zach

Hello fellow classmates. My names Zach Bengs and I'm a freshman at Chapman University. I come from probably one of the best states/places in the country, Denver, Colorado. I am a business major and am considering getting a minor in chemistry and maybe even a minor in history as well. I really don't know what I wanna do after I get out of college but I know I want to go on and get my MBA and hopefully find a good paying job that I will really enjoy. I love to be outdoors playing sports or being on the lake. Wake boarding is a passion that I love and is something I am always trying to do. My favorite sport is golf and I really wish I could have that as my profession because I really can't get enough of it. I played varsity golf in high school and love competition.

Andrew S.

Hello peoplez. This is Andrew Shiroishi. I'm a Freshman in Chapman and part of a minority in this beautiful campus. Recently became 19 years old and I'm majoring in Chemistry. I'm sure that most of you are giving me pity because of my major. It's alright, Chemistry isn't everyone's thing and can be fun sometimes. I was born and raised in Monterey Park, where most of the Asians are gathered in LA. My High School life was in Mark Keppel High School, with it's horrible football team. I used to play instruments, but decided not to take classes up here, since they are only half credit. I'm interested in playing sports as a hobby and am always happy to take up a game of basketball anytime. Have spent numerous times camping and love the outdoors. Much better than sitting on a couch, staring at a TV all day. Excited for the college life in these three years and am hopefully getting my money's worth. I plan to study abroad in Japan so that I can talk in Japanese without the American accent. Just sounds horrible. Hopefully I didn't bore you guys. Thanks for reading.

Laura

Hello! For starters, my name is Laura and I'm from the coolest, weirdest place in the States: Portland, Oregon. I've lived there my whole life and a longing for a new scene brought me to Chapman. As much as I wanted to live in California (although I will always be a true Oregonian), one of my main goals in life is to live in Paris. I'm planning on studying abroad there, if nothing else. I have an older sister who I'm very close with and is currently traveling the world. I have no idea what I want to do with my life, which is something that is unsettling to me since I am someone who loves plans. I love to travel, and going to a variety of places from Cambodia to Switzerland has made me more aware of the world outside of the West Coast. I have a strange obsession with French things, as well as raccoons, fat cats, burritos (or mexican food in general), bananas, boots, and the TV show Friends. See you in class!

C'est la vie!

Its me... Chelsea Rush!

If you want to learn something new about me, keep reading. First off, let me introduce myself. My name is Chelsea Rush (my middle name is not important), but I have many nicknames such as Chels, Crush, Bell, Rush, and more. I am 18 years old, a freshman at Chapman and am among all the other indecisive students who have undeclared majors as well. The only thing that may be remotely unique about my academics at this moment is that I am a dance minor. Dance has been my life since I was 3 years old. I would say I dance an average 15 hours a week. I was born in Whittier, California and was raised in a little town that is unknown in the Chapman world, La Mirada. I went to La Mirada High School. Being a song leader, playing Powderpuff, and going to the proms were definitely moments I can never let go of. I have a brother who is practically my twin, a miniature schnauzer who wants to attack you, aunts and cousins in England, and parents who tolerate me. To finish up summarizing my life, I'm going to keep it simple: seaweed is my worst nightmare, I love snowboarding, Lake Havasu is my favorite place, my goal is to go to Japan, I like mangos, I was raised as a vegetarian (so yes, I've never tried a hamburger), I almost have a black belt, I went to the Ellen Degeneres Show, want to go on Semester at Sea, don't ask me about religion, I go to Wisconsin every year, math is my best subject, I love meeting new people, and simply love life. I urge you to keeping smile no matter what. That's my piece of advice for many situations. Thanks for caring to read.

Mike Benner

Namaste. I'm a senior and just turned 22 on Thursday, this is my last semester here as an undergrad. Right now I'm a Business Administration major with an emphasis in entrepreneurship and a minor in Political Science. I'm also an MBA student, so I'll get to graduate two years in a row... wooo Chapman '11 and '12. I just got back from the Semester at Sea program which literally took me around the world, through thick and thin I made friendships that will sail through even the toughest of waters. I had no idea how amazing this experience could be and now I'm sad it's over. I had the opportunity to dive with great whites in South Africa, search for lions in the jungles of India, and kayak through Halong bay in Viet Nam. I've definitely caught the travel bug, and already booked a trip through Europe this summer. Aside from daydreaming about places I'd rather be, my hobbies include golf, sporting clays, scuba diving, and I'm currently training to get my private pilot license.
Cheers,

Big Willie Style (like Will Smith)

Hi. Hello. Greetings.

My name is Corey Sammon. I hail from the Laguna Beach area, well, actually Laguna Niguel. Most people have no idea where this is and give me a quizzical look when I mutter Niguel. I am 20 years old and attend Chapman University. I am a sophomore and yes I will be 21 in June. Why yes indeed I am older than the average sophomore. I have always wondered why this came to be, but when I ask my parents they respond with, "well, honey you're special." My response to that was, "wait so you are telling me I was mentally incapable of being with a group of people?" Their follow up to this question was, "what would you like for lunch?" I have moved on from pondering my beginnings to wondering about my future. So far, I have come up with a career in law. Yes, that does sound generic, but what other profession do I get to wear a $2,000 suit and yell at people and bill them for enduring my scream-a-thon. Pretty awesome right? Well in case you were wondering what else I was interested in, I will let you in on a few secrets of mine. I enjoy snowboarding massively during the winter, but when Spring rolls around it was like I have never heard of the snow. Spring and summer are meant for golf, beach volleyball, and looking good. The looking good part doesn't happen a whole lot, but I am one hell of a golfer and well beach volleyball is the equivalent of my younger years as "special." I would say that right now I am in a state of limbo because of the strange February weather. Yes, I am lost. It is hard to admit, but I am thinking some volleyball in the morning and some good 'ol snowboarding with my shirt off.

Hope this helped in your never-ending quest to figure some students out! For now I will say...Drink up my hearties yo ho!

Sincerely Yours, (scratch that!)

Yup,

Corey

YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAA

Hey friends. My name is Collin and I'm 22 years old (as of Tuesday). I'm a senior and this is my last semester at Chapman. I'm studying saxophone and I'm going to be receiving a degree in Instrumental Performance. I've been playing the sax since I was nine years old, and I love it more every day. I also play piano, guitar, and I'm learning how to play the flute at the moment. I won the Concerto Competition at Chapman last year, and I will be playing Jacque Ibert's Concertino da Camera with the orchestra on March 4th. I am also preparing for my senior recital which is on March 27th (Sunday) at 8pm, if any of you would like to go. I love most music, including jazz, bebop, big band, romantic and classical music, rock, and death metal.

I also like exercising.

After I'm done with this semester, I am starting a band with my friends and my brother.

The above picture is from when I played at Low End Theory (in L.A.) in January of 2010. I've also played at the Wiltern Theater in L.A.

Talk to me. We'll be friends, and we'll talk about memories past and have a GRAND time.

Stay Frosty,
Collin McClanahan

Alix Mieko Camp

I was born and raised in Hawaii and am currently studying public relations and advertising at Chapman. I've danced ballet for 16 years and hope to use my degree to preserve the art by advertising for a ballet company some day, specifically ABT in New York. I enjoy cooking, making stop motion animations, hiking, pretending that I can surf, oxymorons, and looking at things that glow in the dark. I love to travel. In January I went to Thailand for the first time. While I was there I took Thai cooking classes, rode an elephant and played with baby tigers! Last fall, I studied abroad with the Semester at Sea program and traveled through Europe, Africa and Asia. My dream is to be a contestant on the Amazing Race with my mom as my teammate. We're told that we'd make great TV although I'm not sure if I should take that as a compliment or an insult.

HELLO!

Hey Everyone!
My name is Tara Bokosky, I'm 19 and a freshman. I used to play basketball 24/7 and this is the very first year that I'm not playing it so I'm really trying to figure out what to do with all my spare time. I've taken up baking, yoga all those other weird things so if anyone ever wants to give me new hobby ideas I would LOVE to hear them. I've also lived in Southern California my entire life so that could be another reason I'm so antsy, I think I may need a change.
Some future goals I have is going backpacking through Europe, skydiving, swimming with sharks, getting my pilots license, becoming an elementary school teacher and just settling down. I don't really know when all that will happen but hopefully soon!
As you can probably see, my favorite time of year is definitely Christmas. I probably own too many of those hideous sweaters and I start baking a few days before Christmas. I love this holiday so much because it's the only time of year that my entire family gets together and celebrates and the weather is absolutely amazing.
I hope everyone enjoyed their winter break..only 3 more months until spring break!

Alexis Mora

My name is Alexis Mora and I am a psychology major here at Chapman University. I recently changed my major from Dance last semester and I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. I've been dancing, singing, and playing piano for 16 years and have always had a passion for writing. I've been a principle dancer for 4 years at my studio's company at the Kravenko Dance Academy and have worked with Cirque du Soleil (Las Vegas and Canadian cast), Jubilee!, Phantom of the Opera (Las Vegas cast), Mama Mia (Las Vegas Cast), and others. I was an opinion pro/con columnist and section editor for my school newspaper, the LVAccolades, and won the Las Vegas Review Journal's Best Pro/Con Opinion award in 2010.

Bryce Miller

My name is Bryce Miller and I am a sophomore Business Finance major at Chapman University. I grew up in Scottsdale, AZ until I was 10 and moved to Southern Orange Country from there. Ever since I have grown up in Laguna racing motocross and karts.

In October, I was given the opportunity to test a Porsche racecar with a team called TruSpeed motorsports. After a full day of testing they saw potential and gave me a position on their factory race team. Since then I have just been training, driving, and further preparing for the 2011 race season that commences in early april.

Outside of school and racing I run a lighting and sound business where I DJ different events and parties around the OC. Since I entered college the amount of time I have to dedicate to this has fallen drastically, but I still regularly DJ at different gigs and events.

If you have any questions about me or what I do feel free to contact me at one of the following places:

Cheers,
Bryce Miller
